About Our Parish

Strictly speaking, we are TWO parishes and ONE Catholic Family. In July of 2008, the Diocese of Buffalo, New York established the parish of Our Lady of Mercy from the merger of three parishes: St. Peter's and St. Joseph's Catholic Churches in LeRoy and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lime Rock. The newly established Our Lady of Mercy Parish was administratively partnered with St. Brigid Catholic Church on Gibson Street in Bergen, which had been recently merged with St. Michael's Mission in South Byron. For several years Our Lady of Mercy maintained two sites, St. Peter's Church and St. Joseph Oratory. After the sale of St. Joseph's Oratory, all parish activities for Our Lady of Mercy were and are located on the site of the former St. Peter's Church and the former Holy Family School. While St. Brigid maintains liturgies and many parish activities in Bergen, the administrative offices are shared with Our Lady of Mercy and located in LeRoy. Both parish communities have been blessed by our partnership in living our Catholic Faith and striving to bring Christ to our extended community in Genesee County.
